I am a 45 year old mom and so embarrassed I have head lice!

No need to be embarrassed at all! Head lice do not hop, jump, or fly. They have six legs and only crawl. You get head lice from another person.  Lice do not know age, income, ethnicity, gender, what you do for a living, if you have had lice before or not. All they care about is that you have hair, a scalp for them to suck blood every two hours for their food, and a warm scalp for them to lay and nest their eggs.  We have treated: Doctors, Pediatricians, Nurses, Teachers, Principles, Lawyers, Actors, Famous Athletes, Singers, Police Men, Construction Workers, stay-at-home moms, business owners, and just about any other occupation you can think of.  We have treated families representing over 900 different schools and over 200 different cities. In fact, 50% of the people we treat are children under 18 but the other 50% are adults over 18-usually moms.  Because head lice is spread through hair-to-hair contact, ALL immediate family members are at high risk of getting head lice when a family member has it.   Even if you are able to comb-out your child, it is almost impossible to head screen or comb out your own hair since lice live in hard to reach place where it is warm on your scalp such as the nape of the neck or behind the ear.
