SEVERE INFESTATION FOR OVER 6 MONTHS LEADS TO BLOODY, RED SCALP, MATTED HAIR,  20+ LIVE LICE, AND HUNDREDS OF LICE EGGS STUCK TO THE HAIR

This is the scalp of a an 11 year old girl we treated in April, 2021 and one of the worse cases we have ever seen.   Before coming to us, Mom had tried everything for six months including putting chemical product in the girl's hair over 15 different times. The infestation just kept getting worse and worse. The girl had so many lice in her hair that were sucking her blood that her scalp was literally red with blood. She also had hundreds of lice eggs stuck to her hair.  Her hair was completely matted and we were not able to fully treat her the first day. We dehydrated the lice and their eggs, applied or chemical free lice suffocation oil, had mom detangle her hair, and had her come back 5 days later to comb out the dead, dehydrated eggs.

SEVERE INFESTATION COMBINED WITH TOXIC CHEMICALS CAUSE LOSS OF HAIR

This was a super severe case of lice. Over 30 live lice crawling around and almost 1,000 lice eggs. Prior to coming to our clinic, mom had treated her 8 year old daughter 12 different times with over-the-counter product full of chemicals.  You should never put this product in anyone's hair 12 different times over a period of six months. Not only does it no longer work, as you can see it is extremely harsh on the scalp and that combined with the severed biting from the so many live adult lice can cause significant rashes/damages/itching over time.   And the worse part is the person will still have lice.

HORRIFFIC RED LICE BITES

Head lice survive by sucking on the human blood every two-three hours. This sucking can result in some very noticeable scratches and bites on a person's head.

About 40% of the people that get lice are allergic to the saliva in lice. An allergic reaction to the lice saliva is what causes itching.

This girl had some of the most extreme lice bites we have seen and was itching like crazy. She left our lice clinic lice and egg free.

Although we can end the head lice infestation, we do not end the itching. Everyone's scalp reacts differently and a person can itch for days, weeks, and even months after being lice free. Our advice is to apply chemical free product such as Tea Tree Oil, Coconut Oil, or Aloe Vera to soothe the irritated scalp. Eventually, the bites and itching will go away over time.

LIVE LICE EVERYWHERE!

Most families spend weeks, months, and even years trying to treat lice themselves and most are not successful before they finally decide to come to us.  This girl had lice for about 3 months and was extremely severe when she arrived to our clinic. You can see over 15 live adult lice crawling around and hundreds of eggs glued in her hair. She left our clinic lice and egg free in about 1 hour 45 minutes.

THOUSANDS OF LICE EGGS

This girl was brought in by a mom that had been trying to treat it herself for over one year.  This was one of the most severe infestations we have treated since we opened in 2015.. This 12 year old girl had over 30 live lice and over 1,000 eggs in her hair. The initial treatment took two hours. She was so severe we had her come back five days later for an additional complimentary comb out.

YOU CAN HAVE LICE FOR DAYS, WEEK, MONTHS, AND YEARS IF NOT TREATED: SUPER SEVERE AFTER 4 YEARS OF HAVING LICE

This 17 year old girl had lice for 4 years. If not treated, you can have lice for days, weeks, months, and years. The lice do not care and do not know how long you have had them in your hair. Mom tried everything to treat her daughter with everything people told her works-mayo, scope, olive oil, RID, NIX without any luck before finally learning about our clinic.   This was a super severe case-we found over 500 lice eggs and over 15 live lice in the girl's hair. The entire family ended up having lice as well  -mom, dad, and sisters age 12 and 14 which was no surprise to us. Lice is spread through hair-to-hair contact so it is highly likely their hair touched over the course of four  year.

DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU DYE YOUR HAIR OR IF YOU ARE A MOM, YOU CAN STILL GET LICE

Head lice do not care what color your hair is or if you dye your hair or not or how old you are. We treat people that dye their hair all the time and we treat just as many moms as children. Moms get head lice about 85% of the time when their child has lice. Here is an example of a severe infestation on a 45 year old mom we recently treated that dyes her hair red. We counted over 100 lice eggs in just the one bowl.   When all the combing out of the dead, dehydrated eggs was complete, we ended up filling up 5 different bowls full of lice eggs.

LICE EGGS HAVE A PROTECTIVE SHELL THAT PRODUCT CANNOT PENETRATE

Lice eggs are the size of a grain of sand and have a protective shell that product cannot penetrate.   Even if outside product can kill an adult lice, it will not be able to kill the lice egg.  Lice eggs hatch within 5-7 days if not removed from the hair strand.

LICE ARE RESISTANT TO OVER-THE-COUNTER PRODUCTS

Leading over-the-counter shampoos contain the harsh chemical permethin. Lice have mutated over the years and developed a resistance to this chemical. They will kill live lice about 40% of the time and have no effect on the eggs.   Even worse, the chemicals irritate the scalp and cause itching for days, weeks, or even months. Most people we treat go to the local drugstore thinking this will end their lice infestation only to find out they still have lice.  By the time we get the call, the average person has had lice for about 6 weeks!

IF NOT ENDED, YOU CAN HAVE LICE FOR DAYS, WEEKS, MONTHS AND EVEN YEARS. 6 YEARS WITH LICE IS THE RECORD SO FAR…..

15 year old high school student Veronica had lice since she was 9 years old-for a total of 6 years. Mom had tried everything to treat it herself-scope, olive oil, mayo, RID, NIX. The lice kept coming back.  Veronica was extremely severe when she arrived to our clinic. Two of our technicians worked on her and 2.5 hours she was lice free. She told us “You mean I am actually lice free! I thought I was going to have lice the rest of my life. Thank you!”

SOME PRODUCTS JUST DON’T WORK AND MAKE IT WORSE!!

This girl was treated with Malathion prescribed by their pediatrician. Cost for the bottle was $200.  The directions say to soak the hair and let it dry for 8-10 hours. The little girl didn’t even make it one hour and she was begging her mom to take it out.   The chemical burn extended all the way up to the back of her scalp and she still had lots of lice eggs.

A TRUE FAMILY AFFAIR

This is the Ramirez family. They came to us thinking that two of their girls had lice for sure. They had been trying to treat it themselves for 3 months with over the counter products. When they came in to get head screened we screened all family members and found active lice infestations in all 5 family members. This is very common since lice is spread through head-to-head contact so all immediate family members are at risk.  We assigned three technicians to them and they left us lice free in about 2 hours.

YES, DAD’S GET LICE TOO! ALL LICE NEED IS A HAIR STRAND AND WARM SCALP TO SURVIVE!

Dad’s get lice about 20% of the time.  This is the shaved, #1 hair of a dad that we head screened for lice.  The dad had a severe infestation with over 50 viable eggs and 4 live lice.

STARS, THEY ARE JUST LIKE US

Stars, they really are just like us! Lest anyone think that celebrities are immune to the daily ills that come with sending a child to school, Jennifer Garner sat down with Jimmy Fallon and warned the host about "getting the call" from school — you know, the call where they tell you everyone's OK, but you need to pick up your child immediately because she has lice. Not only did one of her kids get it, but the whole family had to be treated for the pesky little bugs.

MASSACHUSETTS TODDLER DIES FROM HOME REMEDY TO TREAT HEAD LICE

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Massachusetts police are investigating the death of an 18-month old child who suffocated, apparently because of a home remedy for head lice involving mayonnaise and a plastic bag.A Springfield police department spokesman says officers responded to a city home last Saturday for reports of a child not breathing.

Sgt. John Delaney says the little girl's scalp was covered in mayonnaise and a plastic shopping bag was placed over her head, a common home remedy for head lice. The girl was left unattended and apparently fell asleep, allowing the bag to slip down over her face, suffocating her.

ONE OF THE WORSE CASES OF HEAD LICE, EVER

This stomach-churning photo captures what could be the most extreme case of head lice ever seen, as hundreds of nasty creepy crawlies are brushed from a poor child's head.   It was a real struggle to drag a nit comb through this girls thick, dark hair.   When the nit comb is pulled free, it is covered in hundreds of live, pale green lice.
