Los Alamitos-Torrance Lice Removal Owner: From Lice Victim To Lice Fighter!

For Los Alamitos Lice Removal and Torrance Lice Removal owner Marla Weiss, the battle against head lice is both personal and professional. “In January, 2015, all three of our children along with me were infested at the same time,” she recalls. “I spent over three weeks trying to get rid of the infestation it with over-the-counter shampoos that did not work.”  The effort to rid the family of lice took its toll. “Every day, I would spend hours trying to comb out the eggs from each child one at a time and then my own hair, Marla said. “It was a disaster–the kids were crying the whole time and the eggs kept hatching.”  The lice products that weren’t working use pesticides, and with a Ph.D. and 20-year career in nursing, Marla wasn’t happy about dousing her children’s heads with bug killers. “I felt horrible about putting harsh chemicals in my family’s hair,” she said of her ordeal.

“I just knew that we needed a location for our community. We opened up Los Alamitos Lice Removal in August 2015 and have successfully treated over 5,000 families representing 65 different cities and over 350 different schools. We have a 99%+ success rate in our treatments.”

One of Marla’s first customers was a mother and her 15 year-old daughter that had been struggling with head lice for three years. “The very sweet girl was convinced that she would be dealing with lice for the rest of her life,” she said.  We treated her and two hours later she was lice free. She was so happy that she started to cry.”

“Another couple came in because they had found that their entire family all had head lice just two days before their daughter’s wedding,” Marla said. “We treated five family members and they all left our clinic lice-free within two hours.”

The clinic has been so successful that Marla has opened a second location in the nearby South Bay community. “We have had high demand from families living in the South Bay Area and so opening up a second clinic to serve that region was a natural choice for us,” Marla said.   “We decided on Torrance as the location due to its close proximity to all major freeways in the South Bay, number of schools in Torrance, proximity to Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Hermosa Beach, and a population base in the region of over 800,000.”

“Our comprehensive five step process has a 99%+ success rate,” says Marlene. “There are no dangerous chemicals involved, and no painstaking nitpicking is required. The entire process usually takes an hour to 90 minutes, depending on the length of someone’s hair and the extent of the infestation.”
