Thank you for the opportunity to treat your family during what can be a very stressful event in your lives.  We have been married for 22 years and reside in Seal Beach. We have three children ages 17, 14, and 12.

A first generation immigrant from Guatemala, Marla and her family came to the Southern California in 1979. Marla has has over 22 years of medical experience in the Southern California region and holds an AA Degree in Nursing from East LA College, a BS Degree in Nursing from Cal State Fullerton, a Masters Degree in Nursing from UCLA and a Doctorate of Nursing from The University of San Diego.

A native of San Francisco, Scott holds a Masters of Business Degree from California State University, Fullerton and a BS Degree with a triple concentration in Banking, Finance, and Real Estate from San Francisco State.

In February, 2015 we returned from a family trip to Guatemala to find that four of us had head lice. None of us had ever had head lice before. Just like what most families first do, we first went CVS to buy over the counter product full of chemicals.  We spent several hours trying to comb the kids out by ourselves only to find we all still had lice. The kids kept screaming and crying through the whole time and missed several days of school and we missed several days of work. Even with her great medical background, Marla could not solve the problem herself and it was impossible to comb out her own hair.

We wondered if we had such a frustrating time trying to treat our lice, what did other families have to go through. In 2015, we opened up our first professional head lice clinic as Lice Clinics of America Los Alamitos and our second clinic opened up that same year as Lice Clinics of America South Bay.  In August of 2019 we parted ways with the Lice Clinics of America franchise and became Los Alamitos Lice Removal and Torrance Lice Removal.  In March, 2020 we made the difficult decision to downsize and close our Los Alamitos clinic due to the COVID-19 pandemic.   This allowed us to focus all of our time and efforts on operating Torrance Lice Removal.

We have successfully head screened or treated over 40,000 families representing over 875 different schools and 67 different cities throughout Southern California.   We view ourselves as an Emergency Room for head lice. Our mission is to turn what can be a very stressful event into a pleasant family experience that is actually enjoyable and the standard of care for head lice treatment.  We support the communities we serve through lice education, lice head screening, lice treatment, community involvement, and donations of our services back to the community.

We exist to make a difference in the world. We allow children, parents, and families in our community to have their lice infestation solved right away and to sleep well at night. We provide a clinically proven, evidence based service that is chemical free, stress free, and that can end your lice infestation in about 1 hour so you can get back to your lives and look forward to having the opportunity to get your family lice free.
