Meet Our Owners

Marla oversees the operations of our clinic. She has over 26 years of medical experience in the Southern California region and holds an AA Degree in Nursing from East LA College, a BS Degree in Nursing from Cal State Fullerton, a Masters Degree in Nursing from UCLA and a Doctorate of Nursing from The University of San Diego.

Scott oversees the customer care of our clinic. He holds an MBA Degree from California State University, Fullerton and a BS Degree with a triple concentration in Banking, Finance, and Real Estate from San Francisco State and has over 30 years of business experience.

In February of 2015 , four of our five family members all had head lice at the same time. Just like what most families first do, we went to the local drug store to buy over the counter product full of chemicals.  We spent several frustrating hours, weeks, and lot of money and frustration trying to comb the head lice out ourselves only to find out we all still had it. The kids kept screaming and crying through the whole time and missed several days of school. Scott and Marla missed many several days of work. Even with her impressive medical background, Marla could not solve the problem herself and it was pretty much impossible to comb out her own hair.

We wondered if we had such a frustrating time trying to treat our family's head lice with Marla's medical background, what did other families have to go through to try to solve their head lice infestation. In 2015, we opened up our first professional head lice clinic as Lice Clinics of America Los Alamitos and our second clinic opened up that same year as Lice Clinics of America South Bay.  In August of 2019 we parted ways with the Lice Clinics of America franchise and rebranded our two clinics to Los Alamitos Lice Removal and Torrance Lice Removal.  In March of 2020 we made the difficult decision to downsize and permanently close the Los Alamitos clinic due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since that time, other competitors have come and gone. There's Picky Pam by The Beach, Magic Hands, My Hair Helpers, Hair Fairies, and various Lice Clinics of America Franchise locations just to name a few.

Through it all, Torrance Lice removal has been in business since 2015 and has successfully head screened or treated over 50,000 families representing over 864 different schools and 67 different cities throughout Southern California. We are also proud of the fact that we have kept all of our prices the same rate since the very beginning. Our Signature Treatment has been a flat rate of $195 since our first day in business and we will make every effort to keep it that way. We exist to allow families to sleep well at night.
